Q: Why is Hydramaster RX-20 better than a wand?
A: The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a "beast of burden". Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of the person working the wand. The repetitive motion of cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand is extremely strenuous and fatiguing.
First and foremost the RX-20 is an electric power tool. Comparing this to a wand is like comparing a hand saw to a power saw. It has converted a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary mechanized operation. The RX-20 makes many more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions rather than just back and forth. The heavy weight of the machine (90 lbs.) also aids in its deep cleaning ability. This is what produces better cleaning results with far less operator fatigue.
Also, the RX-20 leaves your carpet much drier than a wand. It is able to extract more of the (dirty) water from your carpet.
