*Red Carpet Floor Care uses a weighted floor machine with a series of specially designed diamond studded pads to clean, hone and polish stone floors. These diamond pads come in various grit sizes.

Some types of stone only need to be cleaned, and sealer is not recommended. For many types of stone it is very important to apply a penetrating sealer after they are cleaned. By filling the pores with sealer, stains can be prevented from being absorbed into the stone.

A series of diamond pads is used to hone the stone and take out scratches and any etching that may have occurred. If a dull appearance is desired, one pass (grit size) is usually sufficient. A course diamond pad is used initially to hone the stone and take out any scratches. A series of finer and finer diamond grit pads can be used in sequence to make the scratches on the surface of the stone smaller and smaller to where they become microscopically small. For some types of stone, like marble, an almost mirror-like look can be achieved if the client wants the stone to look that shinny.
